PERSONALITY DESCRIPTION
Sylvia is a good girl—she does what she is told and can be naïve at times. Her personality is graceful like herself, and would not do anything to harm another living thing. She is easily impressed and influenced, making her gullible, but not that much. She has impeccable manners, she speaks when spoken to, and she knows when to follow the crowd and when to take action. Playful and a party girl at heart, she won't hesitate to bring on the dance night when it's time. Sylvia does have a great sense of humor, and can make a joke or two herself. She is also prone to some kind of sarcasm as well from time to time. She will laugh at anything that seems even a tad bit amusing to her, such as a wiggle of an eyebrow. Sylvia is more on the neutral or defensive side of an argument than the more aggressive, attacking position. She does not support violence, and so she prefers to do anything in her power to avoid it.
Anger is an emotion she has hardly come to use or understand, and this is because she always does what she is told and does not ask questions. Sylvia would sooner stand up for a complete stranger than for herself. However, she can dismiss insults aimed at her as if they were nothing. As a person who can barely stand up for herself, she has low self-esteem and is a bit insecure. She tries to hold back her strong emotions, since it is considered unladylike of her to act without thinking in public. She is more likely to burst into tears than become angry with someone. She does lie at times, or rather, whenever she thinks it is appropriate. Sylvia is frightened easily when told a scary story, and can be pranked easily as well.
She is a fan of mind games, riddles and guessing games, as well as poetry and stories of mysterious, life-threatening romance. She absolutely loves words that rhyme one after the other, as if in song. Her mind is fairly sharp, and she knows a great deal about history and literature. Her favorite poet is Edgar Allan Poe, despite the fact that she is not really a Gothic-like character. Her memory is outstanding, and she has no trouble remembering simple facts.
Sylvia is shy and silent, keeping her thoughts to herself as she daydreams about her future. When in a room full of people she has yet to meet, she will cling to a corner of the room, and pretend to be busy fixing her hair or inspecting her manicure for imperfections. But if one were to walk up to her, she'd blush and become quite nervous. Ironically enough, she is not a public speaker, but since she does give others respect, they so remember to return the favor when she's speaking. For Sylvia to find out that someone (aside from friends and family) loved her, she would be completely thrilled, and inevitably complete her life if all fell into place.
Sylvia is a bit superstitious, but she is a Roman Catholic and tends not to dwell on the subject of witchcraft and divination. She does attend Mass, and believes in god. She does not believe that one person is better than another because of a specific quality they have. Instead, she believes that each and every person of this world is meant to fit in because of a quality that brings them down to earth. Sylvia is generally lucky most of the time, as her particularly busy days eventually turn out to be a breeze rather than hectic as she would have expected.
People would have a slow (but fun) time becoming best friends with Sylvia because of her self-consciousness and shy attitude in general. She can follow anyone else's orders but she is independent when she has to be, and can deal out orders when she must as well. Still, she is more of a loyal, trustworthy follower than a leader. Sylvia is good at keeping secrets, as she will always be glad to gain another friend. She can also work under pressure and stress, allowing those factors to fuel her instead of slow her down.

ABILITY
Sylvia has the power to disappear completely at will. Her power is limited to how well she can concentrate on clearing her mind, and keep her fears at bay. Most times, her invisibility holds out for about twenty minutes or so, but that is because she had practiced a little bit at her home in Sevilla. Any clothes she is wearing or anything she is holding disappear along with her, making this ability quite useful if she ever wanted to sneak out of her dorm after school hours.
On top of her invisibility, Sylvia's senses are also heightened compared to that of an average person. She can see very well in the dark, too, just like a cat's sense of vision.
STRENGTHS
Extremely useful in stealth and in being unnoticed.
WEAKNESSES
Loud noises and the thought of deep water can cause her to lose concentration. Also, after exercising the power, she loses some of her own vision, and is prone to vertigo and dizziness.
HISTORY
Since she was originally born in Spain, Sylvia was sent here to Brookshire as an unaccompanied minor when she was just a little over 16. Sylvia is an only child, and her mother died of a stroke when she was little. Sylvia's insecurity dates back to the reason why she was sent to Brookshire, and why it was only her father who really had a chance to see his daughter leave. Ever since her mother died, Sylvia's adventurous side died down, since her father became more and more overprotective as the years went by. Sylvia's mother was always in the spotlight of a crowd, entertaining the peers and showing off, too. But because of her passing, Sylvia didn't really get to absorb the confidence and spirit her mother had. However, she's well aware that she is lacking confidence, and does try hard to be more outgoing and social. Although her father loved her, he didn't want her to suffer a young life of isolation, especially with the mother gone for good. So, out of protection and love, her father sent her to Brookshire by plane and cab. She got by with english pretty well, and fit in with the other students after a plausible amount of time. She found friends, and, what's more, she knows that she has to brace herself for the upcoming school year.
