Now, as you have probably noticed, we're shaking things up a bit here at Brookshire Academy. What Squee and I have decided is to try out something we've seen plenty of other sites do is have all members create one account per character. Why? Well, here's our reasons:- It makes the site look more active, especially if we can get everyone to log into all of their accounts each time they visit the site.
- We can actually get to use the membergroup colors for each character.
- It makes things look prettier, in general.
- You can now customize what you want for your character's signature and avatar and whatever else on its account.
- Character occupations/Student's year (First, Second, Third, etc.) are now more noticeable as the custom title beneath the account name.
So you see, we've got plenty of good reasons for this system to be put into effect. But, here are the details:- NO animal accounts are to be registered. You probably created them to be paired up with a student character you have, which is fine but they don't really need their own account.
- You need a main account. This account should have its own name, not a character's. Take a look at me, for example. I changed my moderator account name to "PEZZEH" instead of "Sylvia Lopez," as that's the name of my character. Also, this main account of yours should also be your alias, something we should call you by. It is also good for notifications, as we (the admin team) don't want to send the same message to all of your accounts if you only need to be notified with one.
- Once you have registered (or modified your account to become your main one) your primary account, you may register your characters'. It does not matter what name you initially register them with, but you must change the screen name so it reads as the character's name: FIRST MIDDLE LAST in all caps. Repeat this for however many characters you have (excluding pets/animals).
- If you happen to have a character with an undisclosed name, just put the name in capitals. The same goes for when you have two characters that just go together, like a dynamic duo (Squee's Mike & Sam) or twins (my Gabe & Mike).
- Modify your characters' accounts as you wish, but please remember to notify an admin about what the custom title for each. To see examples, please check out some of my characters' accounts; you should see what I mean by custom titles when you do.
Alright, so you've got everything set, right? So now all you need to do is follow the following guidelines for posting.- All OOC posts are to be made with your MAIN ACCOUT. That way, we don't get all mixed up.
- Your main account must post your characters' bios, not the character account itself. This is to help keep better track of who plays who.
- If you are roleplaying with more than just one character per post, I suggest that you post instead with your main account if things get to be too much of a hassle. If you think you can handle posting with each character account taking turns (this really only happens when the number of your characters involved is small), then that's okay too. Just make it work.
Remember, THE ALIAS CODE IS THERE FOR A REASON. Log into your main account when making an IC post, and then scroll down to the quick reply box, click on your character's account and then post!
Thank you! <33
