{Kakeru}
Kakeru walked down the main street of Brookings, after leaving his favorite store, a small corner shop devoted to anime goods and import video games. He always went there on Friday, since that was when they got the import issues of Jump, and he would check for new games while he was at it.. He decided to take a trip to the Cafe on Main St., and see if there were any pretty girls. The cafe was always bustling with people, most sitting on the patio outside, others simply sipping coffee inside. And of course, there were the "Writers" who sat in there and wrote their "Crap," for lack of a better word. Kakeru couldn't stand them, so he usually avoided them. He would always order a French Vanilla Capuccino, with a pinch of cinnamon, and a biscotti, which he hated, yet couldn't stop ordering. Oh well, nothing to be done about that. "Man, I could use a date. Bored out o' my mind, and Zeke and Xion are great, but I'm not datin' a dude. Outta the question." He mused, as he walked up to the door of the cafe. He stepped in, striding over to the counter, and placing his money on the counter. He needn't say anything, because he was a regular, and they had his order memorized already.

Tru didn't usually make appearances at the small cafe, but she'd been bored and Tori had been driving her out of her mind. She'd grabbed her laptop, iPod and messenger back and took off, forgetting her coat in the process. The autumn day was surprisingly warm, however, and she supposed she didn't need it.
Perched on a chair at a small table sipping a bottle of Mountain Dew and eating some roasted almonds, she absent-mindedly IMed her friend, who lived in Texas, listened to Boys Like Girls on her iPod and surveyed her surroundings boredly. She considered calling Jasper, the hot Goth boy she'd met before school started at the pool on the roof, but figured he was too busy trying to escape the fangirls that were no doubt trailing him.
The bright-haired teen shifted so that her foot was propped up on the chair and her chin was on her knee, the silver chains on her red and black pants jingled a little, and she contemplated her wardrobe. Today she wore her usual black boots and a pair of Gothic-looking pants and a black, silver and white t-shirt that hugged her torso nicely, the band logo for Linkin Park on the front. She wore a black leather belt studded with silver, and had on a pair of fingerless fishnet gloves and some brightly-colored bangles on over them on both wrists. She had on some dangly spiderweb earrings and a black choker with an opal hanging from it.
She looked a little more Gothy today than she usually did, but who the hell cared? It wasn't like she was dressed to impress. Not intentionally, anyways.
Her eyes wandered from her and Squeeker69's internet conversation and settled on a handsome brunette guy who'd just set some money on the counter. He wasn't hardly bad looking- actually, he was a kind of hot, not the usual type she'd look at, but cute nonetheless. Shrugging, she did a little more typing.
LittleBlackKitten1: A seriously sexy dude just walked into the cafe. Squeeker69: o.o What does he look like? LittleBlackKitten1: Brunette. Taller than me. Kind of lean/muscly. Awesome ice-blue eyes. <3 Squeeker69: x3 Chu should ask him out. LittleBlackKitten1: Nah, he's prolly taken. Sigh. All the good ones are. Squeeker69: v.v True. Dx Bastards.

Kakeru took his coffee from the counter when it was done, and walked away. He never had left over change, because he always paid exactly. He was about to pick a table, when he noticed a glimmer from his peripheral vision. It was coming from the bright red eyes of a rather attractive girl with deep crimson hair. His enhanced intuition said she was checking him out, but his brain was denying it. In the end, he decided that he'd walk over to her and strike up a conversation. He walked over to her, and spoke up a little. "Mind if I have a seat?" He asked, and sat down anyway. She had a laptop sitting on the table, and an iPod plugged into her ears, so he decided to start speaking, in case she could hear him. "It's very nice to meet you. I'm Kakeru, Miyamoto Kakeru. Oh, right, I should mention that I'm Japanese, so Miyamoto is my surname. A couple of people got that mixed up. And might I ask your name?" Kakeru kept a slightly formal tone of speech, enough to be polite, but not enough to sound stuck-up. He liked to make good impressions, but he didn't know why. He supposed it was his natural Japanese upbringing, and left it at that.

LittleBlackKitten1: Omfg. He's coming over here. >>
Tru lowered the lime green Skullcandy headphones from her ears so they hung around her neck, 'Heels Over Head' blaring from them. She nodded to his question, a dainty lift of her chin, half-listening to him.
LittleBlackKitten1: He talks a lot. Squeeker69: lmao. xD
"Tru Force. Konnichiwa, Kakeru-san." She replied, her voice smooth as water flowing over riverbed pebbles. She offered him a smirk, showing she had mild knowledge of Japanese. "You go to the Academy?" She asked, tilting her head ever-so-slightly with an innocent bat of her lashes. Most of the 'exotic' people around town were transfers to Brookshire, and he didn't look too old. Not that age mattered- there were 20-year-olds in First Year classes. Or so she was told.
LittleBlackKitten1: He's got a jap name. Prolly another tranfer student. Squeeker69: Oooh. He might be in some of your classes. >3 LittleBlackKitten1: >3 ... >> Mehbeh. =P

Kakeru gave a slight bow of his head, to show respect to Tru, and then sipped from his coffee. He left the biscotti untouched, as he despised the things. He followed this with a short sentence, "I apologize if I talk a bit much. My roommates tell me I tend to babble without realizing. And yes, I do attend the Academy. Green Class, Dorm Room 10, Bed 3." As he spoke, he began to babble without realizing, exactly what he just warned Tru about. He stopped himself quickly, and took another sip of his coffee. Just then, as soon as his cup touched the table, somebody stepped on Kakeru's foot, and they were wearing boots. Of course, Kakeru was infuriated. "By Tsukuyomi, what in hell do ya think yer doin'?! Ya just stepped on my bloody foot, and ya don't even apologize! That just pushes it. Time to repent!" Kakeru clenched his fist, and threw a punch right at the man's shoulder, aiming to knock him down. The man turned slightly, and took the hit to his back, knocking his unconscious. Kakeru then turned to Tru, and bowed, an embarrassed look on his blushing face. "I am sooo sorry you had to see that. It's just, I tend to snap at some things, and the fact that he didn't apologize for stepping on my foot while he was wearing a heavy boot just pushed it for me."

LittleBlackKitten1: Lmao. At least he knows he's noisy. Squeeker69: xDD Nice.
As Tru half-listened to Kakeru, half-obsessed over her DragCave, a man just so happened to step on Kakeru's foot. She quirked an eyebrow as he snapped at him, sounding like a pissed-off Brit, before bringing his arm back and punching the poor guy in the shoulder. She removed her fingers from the keyboard, typing a "BRB" message to Squee, and placed her hands on top of it as it closed, seemingly by itself. She tilted her head to the side, quirking a dark eyebrow over one scarlet eye. "You could have just called him a clumsy bastard and flipped him off." She blinked. "Or did you forget your meds this morning?"
Leave it to Tru to make a sarcastic comment. But, hey, that was just who she was. If he didn't like it, he could just get the Fawk out and stop wasting her time. Yawning, she grabbed her iPod Touch and switched the song to 'Money Honey' by Lady Gaga. She didn't like seeing the chick on stage, but she did appreciate the near-techno-ness of the music. It blasted from the headphones around her neck, loud enough even for the next table to hear it. Luckily, they were too used to it to care.

From the depths of it's pockets came the familiar sounds of Linkin Park as the blackberry hiding within alerted it's owner to a new message. The screen lit up and across it's length was a short message from Jazz: Movies. 2nite @ 6. Be there? [/blockquote][/blockquote][/ul]

Kakeru smacked himself in the forehead, and then his head dropped. "DAMN! Why the bloody 'ell didn't I think of that?!" He cursed, his British blood dominating his speech. He sat back in his seat, reaching to grab his coffee. He needed the caffeine to relax himself, so he took a long sip. Then he sat the cup down, and took a relaxed tone again. "As I said, I apologize for my behavior. I had no excuse to do so, and you have every right to just walk away if you so wish."
Kakeru hated to leave a bad impression, so he kept his cool, rather than overreact. The crowded coffee shop had become somewhat amazed by the strength of the boy, even though he knocked the man out by mistake. He pulled a small box from the inner pocket of his shirt, and pulled a stick of pocky from the box. "Want one?" He stuck his in his mouth, and leaned back a bit. His icy blue eyes scanned the shop, and came back to rest on Tru. He was captivated by her, but wondered if she liked him. Especially after that outburst. He grinned to her, hoping for a positive response.

Tru sighed and reached down, her hand only barely inside when the phone flew into her hand. Of course, the Japanese dude- Kakeru- wouldn't notice anything since it was both under the table and her hand was concealed as it was. She brought it to her lap, reading the text and quirking a brow before sliding open the keyboard and typing in a quick, Sure. She then pocketed the device dismissively- as if she hadn't just been asked out by a really hot guy- and smiled at Kakeru in mild amusement.
"It's fine. I just like to piss people off more subtly. My grandmother always said that people hurt more if you struck from the inside, rather than the out." She shrugged, and glanced at the pocky. She hadn't seen it sold in any of the stores she frequented. Pocky was just too Japanese for most places, she supposed. "Nah. I'm good." She gestured toward her soda and the roasted almonds. She, strangely, preferred fruits and nuts over chocolate. Most of the time, anyways. Sometimes she would die for a little bar of dark Hershey's chocolate.
Popping a couple of the almonds into her mouth, she shifted again so her feet were propped up on another chair's seat. A new song blared from her oversized headphones; Fireflies by Owl City. Her foot twitched in tune to the beat as she contemplated on another swig of Mountain Dew. Out of the corner of her eye, she caught Kakeru looking at her, giving her a friendly smile. She arched an eyebrow and flashed him her own crooked grin, blinking her think, dark eyelashes innocently at him, the tips brushing the tops of her cheeks.
