The Past

[/i], even super-powers! Her two best friends, Ivy and Heather, were the closest people in the world to her, aside from her parents. And so, it was natural that a little girl wanted to share a secret.

When she first told them, they didn't really believe her. But she argued the fact, and told them to come to her house at four o'clock. They shrugged and agreed. When they arrived, Sim had prepared a bowl of water. She told them to sit at the table with the bowl, and she sat down too. Then she closed her eyes. Nothing happened immediately, and the girls had their doubts. But they were surprised when the water had begun to ripple and churn, as if an invisible spoon was stirring it. And slowly, the water bubbled and began to lift from the dish, hovering and squirming in mid-air. Ivy and Heather, stunned and thrilled, asked their friend to do more. And Simone complied.

Simone's mother, bringing milk and cookies for the supposed 'tea party', opened the door to this. She promptly stumbled, almost spilling the food and drink, then closed her eyes and counted to ten. Opening them again, she saw her daughter and her friends watching her, water still hovering in the air. Sasha, Sim's mother, set the tray of goodies down, then fainted. Dropping the water, Simone grabbed her cell phone and quickly phoned her father. 911 seemed too dramatic.

When Keith, her father, arrived, he demanded to know what happened. Simone hesitantly explained, then proved herself by causing some of the water in the sink to float in front of his face. He'd blinked several times, said nothing, blinked several more times, then rubbed his eyes and pinched himself. The hovering water didn't go away.

Eventually, both her parents warmed up to the idea of her daughter having supernatural abilities, as did her two friends, but Sasha and Keith told her to keep them a secret. So, content with her four closest people knowing, Simone vowed to keep her mouth shut.

Eventually, she grew to the age where she'd be entering highschool, and ta-da! She ends up at Brookshire Academy for her freshman year.
