The Grand Re-Opening
Superheroes and villians are not all too unfamiliar to us, but what is unfamiliar is the knowledge that they truly exist amongst us. Normal average looking people with extraordinary gifts walk along side everyone and have been able to stay under the radar.
These gifts were not something that was easily mastered, and therefore came the rise to academies who took in these people to train them how to harness their gifts. Numerous academies had opened in the past century, but only one truly stood out and surpassed the test of time.
Grand View Academy had gained the most credit for being the oldest of the academies, and prodominantly the largest. Other academies still remain, but are not as widely known as Grand View. Grand View is known to be quite noble in their teaching methods. They were also the first academy to integrate an actual town around it which harbored many gifted people who had either graduated from the academy or who had simply moved in to escape the outside world. Grand View Academy is located in a large forest region. The academy and town of Grand View is surrounded on all sides by dense forest, and it remains quite secluded from the outside world. Many technopaths are known to work at these academies to keep these locations out of view from satelites above.
Over the years students have attended these academies looking to better their mastery over their gifts. After graduating many students went on to live around the academy and some even went as far to start teaching at their own academy they graduated from. The students that had been brought to the academies were spotted by those able to sense and see others' gifts. At that point either letters were sent out to students inviting them to the academy, or sometimes certain students were visited personally by academy officials.
Grand View has done excellent work and nothing negative had come of it. However, everyone knew deep down that it wouldn't always be that way, and they knew someone would rise wanting more than they already had. All they could do now was wait and see. Wait and see who had plans of treachery.
