"You know, that's probably not the best place to lay down. LOL" Sandy blond hair cascaded down around a perfectly chiseled face and darkened the normally bright blue eyes to something a little deeper. But there was a wide toothy grin on the face of Jeremy Navarof, and although he had just said LOL out loud, he allowed himself a small chuckle.
His laptop case and book bag were resting in the grass a few inches behind the girl, the tall boys fingers wrapped protectively around the straps of both bags. "The maintenance guys don't like people walking across the grass so they leave a few of the fire ant mounds here and there. Pretty thing like you probably doesn't want to get bit repeatedly. Nasty sores." Jeremy gave her a charming smile, still bent over the girl and studying her face.
Aaaah, Ms. Tsuzuki Gutierrez. Known alcoholic and 'Bad Girl' He chuckled once more to himself before straightening his back and lugging the two heavy bags up to his shoulder. Yes, Jeremy did abuse the powers awarded to him, he snuck into all the class files and read up on all of the schools students, teachers and staff. He knew everyone's name, address, and birthday. Hell, he even knew their social security number and the last place they bought a sandwich with their credit card.
But he only did this because of the curiosity that had been embedded in him at a young age. It's not like he'd use this information for his own gain, he had Brookshire now, and as long as this place kept him safe and away from the normal eye of society then he wasn't going to do anything to mess that up. Looking back down at Zuki he let himself smirk lightly. "Have a nice day, Ms. Guiterrez." There was a light accent behind his perfect English, something that resembled a mix of the Eastern countries, but quiet enough not to get in the way of his speech.
With a small salute he shook his head lightly, flipping his long hair as best he could so it was behind his shoulder. He wasn't man enough to lift his hands and set his hair behind his ear like he watched most girls do. Turning away from Zuki he headed back towards Brookshire, heading straight for the bar and the first beer of the school year. The little keypad keeping students out had no say in Jeremy's world.
Aah, the life of a nerd.

Though her English was far from great, Zuki understood most of what he said... she thought. Something about pretty stinging ants in the grass. Not that that was anything new to her-- growing up in the rainforests of South America, she'd been bitten by worse. Bullet Ant stings were murder. Goliath Birdeating tarntulas with inch long fangs... well, that one never actually bit her, but it was still creepy. And growing up with zoologist parents, she was used to dangerous little creepy crawlies being reffered to as pretty. Linda. Bonita. She opened her mouth as if to say something, but was at a loss for words... English words, anyway. She could say it in Spanish. She could say it in Japanese. But her English was just awkward. She rolled her Rs when she remembered that they weren't Ls, and had a tendency to switch back and forth between sounding Latina and sounding Asian. "Como--no, me nombre-- no.. how you-- my name...?Her speech wasn't perfect, but the look of utter confusion probably said more. "Wait!--Adonde van?"[/ul][/blockquote]

Jeremy's eyes flashed over his shoulder, the same small smirk resting on his lips. "English isn't your favorite language, is it?" He chuckled lightly, stopping in his pace and turning to face Zuki once more. If he had been in Belgium the locals would have torn her apart for not speaking German, or even Dutch. But America was different, they were more relaxed and accepting of people.
And Jeremy really didn't care.
He could comprehend most languages, even dead languages long since forgotten to the modern world, he could understand others, read it and for the most part even write it. Speaking was a whole different story. His fingers wrapped stiffly around the strap of his book bag, his mind already inside the school and enjoying a nice cold... Maybe Melinda was back already, she never had a problem giving him his weekly beer. Sure it was against the rules, but, eh. Jeremy was above most rules.
"I'm heading into the bar." He tilted his head to the side, pointing towards the glass windows that looked out over the pond. "Unlike most underage students the rules don't apply to me." He was tempted to puff out his chest and let a rare cocky look enfold his face. But he held back and instead let out a half chuckle and a "LOL."
Smiling he took a few small steps backwards. His classic converse slapping against the pavement lightly. His dark jeans and black AC/DC t-shirt were a bit contrast to the dressy, black blazer he wore. But he made it work, and even complimented the whole outfit with a snakeskin choker and of course his shaggy hair. [x3] "Care to join me?"

The smirk cracked into a much wider grin as she came forward to follow him. Getting the invite was the easy part-- but there was a fine art to convincing guys to buy your drinks too. And Zuki sincearly hoped that this man would choose to be a gentleman rather than make her work for it... but that wouldn't be so bad. She gathered something about there being no rules for him here-- and if that was the case, getting in close with this guy could prove... useful. Conning people was another fine art you learn in seedy Buenos Aires bars and clubs. Tzuki was also pretty sure he was understanding her Spanish-- he seemed to be able to answer her, although he did so in English... He had a accent too, she thought, but it was so faint she couldn't really place it. All she knew is that it was Spanish or Japanese. Spanish of course, growing up in Argentina, was her preferred language, but her mother insisted on all her children learning her native Japanese-- so that was spoken just as much as Spanish in their household. English had been something she picked up on a little from the gringos her parents occationally worked with. Because honestly, it was easier to understand them when they spoke English than when they tried to speak Spanish. [/ul][/blockquote]

Jeremy's hand swept out before him and he let Zuki take a few steps before he fell in line beside her. His stride was wider, and it would only take him a few steps to completely bypass her. "So you know, you don't have to speak in English." He smiled widely at her, his wide grin a little over-bearing but that was what Jeremy was known for, wide smiles and an even wider intelligence. "I can understand you just fine."
He chuckled softly, "Of course, you probably can't understand a single thing I'm saying, LOL" Instead of laughing this time, he only grinned for a moment and then let his eye sight aim towards the glass windows of the bar. He could already feel the fake pleather of the bar stool beneath him and the chill running through his fingers as he picked up his favorite drink and sipped the oddly refreshing-
"OMG!" His outburst was a bit louder then he was even anticipating and he jumped a bit at the sound, only to bust up laughing a moment later. "You'll have to try the lemon cake they have here. Es muy beuno." He had no idea if what he said was correct, had he been writing it the grammar and punctuation would have been perfect. But, school had yet to start and he had no one to impress at the moment.
"I love cake, all kinds, especially lemon. It has a sweet and tart taste to it. Mmmm, make me drool just thinking about it. LOL." Jeremy glanced at Zuki before lowering his head and lightly smacking his forehead. "Heh, heh. I keep forgetting you probably can't even understand me." They approached the large oak doors to the front of the school and Jeremy stepped forwards to open it for her.
With a small smile he bowed respectfully as she passed and followed her inside.

The woman found herself walking quite quickly, trying to keep up with Jeremy's much longer stride. Being short wasn't always fun-- actually, it was very rarely fun. "No, yo entiendo un poco"She did understand what he said about the good lemon cake, at least. And that he liked cake. "Tarta de limón-- is what we call your limón cake. Or cake-- pastel."She bowed respectively back as she headed through the door Jeremy had held open for her-- a little habit she had picked up from her Japanese mother. Manners were always considered of the utmost importance by her mother's side of the family-- but she chose to forget them most of the time. Tsu paused for a second for him to join her before continuing forward toward the bar-- getting a drink might be a lot easier than she thought. She couldn't tell if he was underage or not-- like with her, one year could make all the difference and one year was a hard difference to tell. [/ul][/blockquote]
