Aimee wandered around the gardens enjoying the scenery around her. Aimee had always liked to go outside when she was in need of inspiration or if she was just bored out of her mind. Nature had always made her happy. Aimee looked up to see a bird flying above her high in the sky. “Lucky little thing…it is completely free of everything.” Aimee looked down at the ground as she continued walking. Aimee started humming one of her favorite songs as she walked her hair blowing into her face with every burst of wind that came.

Sylvia was on the go, having taken a liking to the new and improved mocha from the cafe. Oh my god, the foam totally melts in your mouth! She was just walking along the grassy fields, admiring the skies and knowing for a fact that she wouldn't be able to enjoy her free time like this when classes started. She had put on her purple converse, black shorts and a white tee with a peace sign on it from TJ Maxx. On top of that, she was wearing her new charm bracelet. Normally she wouldn't wear jewelry, but she thought she'd just snap it on real quick for today.
♫ Somebody told me, you had a boyfriend, who looked like a girlfriend... ♫
Sylvia was not paying attention to where she was walking, and so she wound up heading straight for the gardens, humming the tune to the song as she took another sip of her mocha. "Hmm?" She stopped walking and looked up to see another girl wandering through the gardens. The latina offered a caffinated mocha-tinted smile as she continued her way to the gardens.
"Ciao!"

Aimee heard someone behind her she had no idea what they had said, but to avoid looking rude she turned around. "Hi?" Aimee said not all to sure of how to reply to ciao. Aimee looked at the girl's outfit it was clear to her that the girl standing opposite actually had a personality. Some girls Aimee had seen were still wearing the same boring clothes they wore during the school year. Life is always more fun with color Aimee thought to herself as she looked down at her red high tops and blue jean shorts that were over a pair of red fishnets. On top of all that she was wearing a black shirt with a red heart on it the heart had two knives in it forming an X behind it. Aimee imagined she looked like an alien or something to people who dressed all reserved.

Sylvia was surprised to see a girl in a rocker-chic outfit. "Oh, I LOVE your fishnets! Where'd you get them?" Simple designs and trinkets like that could very easily get Sylvia jump-starting a conversation with a stranger. Talking about clothing wasn't really a topic that Sylvia stumbled into a lot. But the fishnets seemed so unique to her that she thought they'd be something worth being even a little curious about. With that said, Sylvia took another sip of her warm mocha, glancing from side to side at the beautiful scenery that surrounded the two students. Pretty... She glanced up, and lowered the cup from her lips. "By the way, my name's Sylvia." and she offered a giggle, tinted with some sort of apology for not saying that sooner.

Aimee was shocked that Sylvia commented on her fishnets out o everything in that outfit, but she didn’t complain she liked talking about clothes as long as it’s not three hours discussing which pair of shoes you should buy. “These?” Aimee said looking down at her legs. “I got them at Hot Topic.” Hot Topic had been Aimee’s favorite story since she was thirteen. “I love it there. A good portion of my wardrobe is from there.” Aimee just realized that she had neglected to introduce herself. “Oh I’m so sorry I’m being rude…my name’s Aimee.”

To Sylvia, Aimee was a girl who liked to show her voice and point of view, but also play it smart, judging from her vocabulary and attire. She grinned, with a tiny spark in her eyes. "Hottopic? No wonder! That's one of the most uniquely awesome stores I've been to." Sylvia had been to Hottopic before. Although she didn't buy a big portion of clothing there, she bought some fun band tees and a couple of grunge-themed accessories. On one occasion when she was in New York before arriving in Brookings, she remembered purchasing a can of sparkly hair spray from the local Hottopic, and she wound up using it 'till the last drop on that same day. Good times, good times... If you took the time to get to know Sylvia, you would see that she'd like to add a touch of special flair in everything she did. It was from little detials like comical doodles in her history notes, and a little smiley emote at the end of each text message.
"Hey, are you ready for when classes start?" Sylvia chimed. Shrugging she finished her tidbit of the conversation. "I guess I'm a little nervous 'cause I moved here from Spain. How about you?" She questioned.

Aimee was surprised the conversation went from Hot Topic to school, but Aimee didn’t argue she just talked like she always did……..nonstop. “Well I will miss the ability to just roam the grounds as I please, but I am ready for classes I mean I don’t spend my nights dreading the future. I embrace the future and all the opportunities it will bring me.” Aimee said thinking she probably sounded like a total grown up, but for her it was tough to not sound that way. She grew up with no siblings and she had always thought that the students in her classes were far too immature to talk to. She had an adult brain in a child’s body and she hated that, but that’s the way she was born so she could never argue. “Anyway.....so you are from Spain…..it must be a heck of an adjustment for you.”
