"DECK THE HALLS WITH BOUGHS OF HOLLY! FA-LA-LA-LALA! LALA-LA-LA!" A voice screeched over the radio that was blasting christmas music throughout the cafeteria. It sounded almost like a strangled cat, but John, being the silent, polite type, would never tell Tanya just what her voice sounded like. Instead, the botanist approaced the large black stereo and turned it off before she had a chance to start the chorus. "Having fun there, Tanya?"

The shorter woman stopped short as the music ended, blushing as she turned to see one of her closer friends standing behind her. "O-Oh! John. Haha, you scared me." Tawny lowered a hand to her chest, feigning a loss of breath as she leaned against the wall behind her. "And yes, I was having fun, you big grump. You get just like Greg this time of year. Grumpy, annoying, my favorite." She giggled softly and motioned for him to come closer so that she could use his shoulder to get some green tinsel higher on the wall.

"There. Perfect." The usually pale walls of the cafeteria had been covered in green and red tinsel, ornaments, paint, and gods only knew what else Tanya had thrown up there. She'd been working non-stop to get the room ready for their Christmas party. The floor had been polished, the tables decorated with red tablecloths, and several spots through out the room had mistletoe hanging. Tanya grinned at the work she'd accomplished over the last couple of days, along with the help with a few of her students.

"Grumpy? Greg?" John grabbed his throat, pretending to choke as he stared at Tanya with wide eyes. "Pfft. I meant it as a compliment. At least he bathes." Tanya laughed and flinted over to one of her students, remarking on the tree they were painting on the wall. John grinned and watched her walk away, rolling his eyes as he worked his way back behind the counter and to his coffee. I bathe.

Haevyn finished her tree, smiling up at Tanya before she walked away again. Feeling acomplished, Vynny set down the paint brush she had in her hand and stepped back to look up at the wall. Her tree was almost perfect, she would just need to find a ladder to paint a star at the top. Glancing around, Vynny frowned lightly. "Looks like I'll have to wait for someone taller to walk by." She laughed softly, wiping her arm across her forehead and spreading the red and blue paint all over her skin. I guess I was a bit messier then I thought. The young girl giggled softly and wiped off her hands on her pants, wondering what else she could add to her tree.

Exusia walked in to the cafeteria, he hated this time of year. He loved presents, but people were always in groups so he couldn't hunt easily. Matsumoto glanced around and saw a few teachers and Vynny, the girl with the sweet smelling blood. "I need to drink some of her blood, soon. It smells far too good." He said to himself as he licked his fangs. Matsumoto walked through the crowds to Vynny, her blood's scent getting stronger. He got to Vynny and stood next to her, his arm around her. He looked up at the tree with a fake smile.

"Very pretty, I like it. You must have painted it, for it to attain this type of beauty." He looked at her and smiled. "Need some help? I want to contribute to this great beauty."

Angelus sat in his usual chair, eating his fried fish with egg nog. He looked around to make sure he wouldn't have to kill his room mate. He wanted to, but wouldn't like jail. Angelus took a bite of his food, it was pretty bad. The fish was shoddy and the egg nog was too much egg and not enough egg. He couldn't see any friends there, so he slid his food down the table, stoob up and left. Angelus wasn't too fond of this time of year because he never got anything, he never had friends to give to or get from.

Gakupo walked around the room, munching on a bowl of rice and singing christmas carols. He was a good singer, very good. He bumped into Angelus as the boy left. Gakupo scanned the room and saw a few other teachers, he walked over to them. "Hey! I love this time of year, I can sing in the open and no one cares." He laughed at that thought. "So what are ya'll up to? Looks like a tree. I wish I could have a tree, but I'm allergic to them." Gakupo was in one of his very very energetic and fun moods. He wanted to be playing music loudly throughout the entire building, but not many people would want that.

Kakeru had only recently woken up, and he was hungry, so he decided to go downstairs and get some food. As he walked int the Cafeteria, he saw a few of his fellow students by a large tree, as well as a teacher he was somewhat fond of. He walked over to them, and began to speak. "Hey everyone. Hey Gakupo-sensei." He smiled, and looked at the tree. "Damn beautiful, it is. Best tree I've ever seen."

Sven sat at a table in the cafeteria, sipping his morning coffee. He loed this time of year, since the ladies were all in a good mood, and even the cockiest students couldn't bother him. Unless, of course, they brought him coffee with sugar. He HATED sugar in his coffee. "Ah, such a lovely day. A gentleman like myself could get used to this."

Jacen-

Jacen ate his breakfast, rather quickly, his face lit up with the joy of the season. "God...I love this time of year....its cold! and its just....I love it!" He said to himself as quietly as possible. Apon finishing his food he dumped the trash and headed back to the table he was at, sliding out a violin case. Quickly opening it and sliding out his bow he began to play in tune with Gakupo's decent singing.

[¡SQUEEKERS!]

"Oh! Exu! Bonjour." Haevyn giggled softly, startled at his sudden appearance, well, sudden to her since she was so focused on how to paint the damn star, and gave her friend a small curtsy. "And thank you." She blushed at his praise, waving her hand lightly in modesty. "Just something I threw together, Ms. G asked if I'd paint one, since the Headmaster doesn't want to bring in a real tree... For some, odd, reason." She shrugged her shoulders, nodding her head towards her favorite teacher and causing the bells on her Santa hat to jingle.

Smiling, Vynny held up the yellow paint brush towards Exu and giggled. "If you can make a star, I need one at the top. And, for the life of me, I can't find a ladder anywhere." She cursed her short stature for a moment before turning her head towards the front doors of the cafeteria. "Mon dieu. Comment mignon!" Threw the doors walked Mike and Sam, the young science teachers that, more often then not, set fire to something during one of their many experiments, and in Mike's hands was a small, paint covered, pig.

Spyder, who had recently been rolling in paint, and dragging around a pair of Mike's red and green boxers, was squealing lightly in his owner's hands. In protest of course. He could smell the paint a mile away, and the bright colors were quite appealing to him. So, secretively, the little pig planned on how to get out of Mike's hands. He didn't have to wait long, when Mike lifted him to pass him off to Sam, Spy made a break for it. Landing on his hooves, Spy bolted towards the paint, squealing as he passed under tables, chairs, and clamoring over someones lap just to slide right into the yellow bucket and splashing paint all over the two standing next to the wall.

"Eeep!" Haevyn lifted her hands to protect her face as the paint splashed up at her, falling into a giggle fit a moment later. "Comment mignon!"

"Oh my god.!"
"Haevyn! We're so sorry!"

"Haha, it's alright." She smiled and glanced up at Exu's pants. "Hmhm, he may have to apologize to my friend here though." Vynny giggled and glanced at the pig rolling around, mixing the yellow the green paint together.

"Heh, sorry, dude- Er...!"
"Yeah, sorry about Spy. He doesn't really... Get "out" much."
"I'm so not washing him..."
"What! It's YOUR turn!"
"Nuh uh!"
"Yeah huh!"

"Erm, Mr. Crane, Mr. Stevens, you might want to catch him first..." The two looked away from each other, only to follow Vynny's pointing finger to the blue pig now trying to climb up a table cloth leading to a tray of vegetables. "AH! The carrots!" Mike made a break for him, Sam staying behind to apologize once more before heading off after his best friend.

Exusia grabbed the paintbrush, thinking that this would woo her. Nay. I have an idea. Exusia was then hit with paint, his pants probably ruined. "My.....My.....My....My three hundred dollar pants.....ruined...." Matsumoto had to fight the werepire off so that he wouldn't turn infront of everyone. I distracted himself by thinking his idea back. He got it. Exusia handed Vynny back her paint brush and hoisted her up onto his shoulders.

"I'm not a good artist, so please, I finish your beautiful creation." He said as he marveled at how odd he felt as he did this and the strength of her blood's scent. He craved it.

[ツ PEZZY]

A rather tall, shady figure slinked and snaked his way through the doors to the cafeteria, singing and humming a song that fit his persona:

A perfectly Scrooge-ish Grinch in every way.

“Oh, you're a mean one, Mr. Grinch.
You really are a heeeelll!
You're as cuddly as a cactus,
And you're as charming as an eeeelll;

Mr. Gri-iiiIINCH!!!

You're a bad banana with a...uhm...greasy black peeeeeeeelllll!!!”

The stanza and a line were sung with a crescendo from the very first “Mr. Grinch.” Gregory hummed the rest to himself, gliding by Tanya, John and Mike and Sam, not really paying attention to what the rest of the students were doing. He came down here for a strudel, really. A flat line and a blank stare became his face as he looked at the Christmas decorations. His eyes narrowed as he let himself walk slowly around the cafeteria, examining all the new paintings, creations and ornamentations. Jesus Christ... Greg glanced at Tanya from a few feet away, only before “Hmph”-ing and making a beeline for the counter.

“Hey! How much are the strudels?”
He knocked his knuckles on the marble top with apathy.
Again the more-than-grumpy teacher glared at anyone and anything close enough to him.

I hate Christmas...

But why?

Somewhere else on the other side of the cafeteria...

A lop-sided, super-sized green bow was stickied to his head. He didn't quite like it very much, but knew better than to take it off...for now.

“Aw, come on! You look festive.”
“'Course it's festive and festive means stupid in the guy code.”Diesel put on a sour face.
“Well, screw the guy code! It's my bow and it'll be on your head.

For.
The.
Rest.
Of.
The.
Day.

Capiche?”
“But-but...no...”
The response came out mousy and only barely audible.
“What was that?”
She stared him down, even though she was at least one foot shorter than him.
Creepy.
He rolled his eyes and sighed, giving up on it.
“...Fine. I'll wear it but only for TO-DAY.”

“YES!”

She hugged/collided into him.

It was only 100% necessary to emphasize her joy.

Deja giggled as she walked into the cafe, "Marvelous!" She exclaimed, turning in circles to see the walls, "It's so beautiful." The counselor smiled brightly, her sweet tone excited for the holiday. She had always loved Christmas, ever since she was a small girl. Her family, even though poor, would gather all the money they had, and buy a large ham. They'd all cook it together, and enjoy the sweet pork, along with the peaceful gathering of family. All 6 cousins, her Uncle and Aunt, Mother, Father, Grandpa, and Grandma.

Deja walked over to the gathering of staff and students alike and smiled, "I am loving the decor! It's so beautiful. Brings joy into my heart." She giggled lightly, wondering exactly how many students would recognize her. She wasn't exactly seen all that often.

[¡SQUEEKERS!]

"Why thank you Deja, dear." Tanya giggled as she danced back over towards Haevyn and the painted Christmas tree. Her festive red and green silk kimonos were wrapping and twisting around her legs as she twirled in circles. "Vynny, and few other students and I truly appreciate the compliments. Plus, it's extra credit for them, so, it's even better." She winked and twisted away again, working her way over to a couple of tables on the other side of the room that were sporting some decorations that still hadn't been hung up. She started humming again, wondering what had happened to the music before remembering that Johnathon had turned it off. He was just about as Grinchy as... Well. Greg.

"Uhm... I, er, dunno, I just bake the stuff, I don't sell it. One sec." Caje stared blankly at the man before him, the same guy who'd sung Mr. Grinch all the way from the cafeteria doors. And, unfortunately, asked Caje a question about the strudels he'd just taken out of the oven. Their soft dough and Christmasy scent filling the back of the cafeteria with salivating goodness. Oh, how Caje loved to bake. He held up a finger to his first customer of the morning, and turned towards the very back of the kitchen. "Oy!" He waited a moment, holding his hand up, waiting for someone to- "WHAT!?" A voice echoed from the back, the sound of running water ending as another head popped out from behind a corner.

"How much are the strudels?" Caje lowered his hand, addressing his 'boss' in the back room. In response, Nikolaus let loose a string of Finnish [Caje guessed he was cursing], and while wiping his hands on his apron came into the light of the cafeteria. "What?" Despite his Finnish heritage, his voice came out laced in a soft British accent. "How much are the strudels?" Staring innocently back, Caje pointed down at the pastries.

"Oh, they're free. Ms. G. almost had my ass earlier when I tried to make a buck off a cinnamon bun." Niko rolled his eyes and looked up at Greg. "You're the Humanities teacher right?" "And the Grinch, apparently." Caje mumbled to himself, wrapped up a strudel in one of the napkins and set it on the counter in front of Greg. "Merry Christmas. He grumbled before walking away, Niko raising his brow as he watched his sous chef walk off. "You're a mean one, Mr. Grinch..."

Haevyn's cheeks bruned a bright red as Exu hoisted her up on his shoulder. "Mon dieu! Set me down before you hurt yourself.!" She gripped her paint brush in one hand, and what she could of his shoulder with her other hand. She wasn't truly fond of heights, but she was more worried about him hurting himself more. "N-Not that I don't appreciate it, Exu." She smiled sheepishly, her cheeks still burning red. But she ended up reaching out, just in reach of where the star should go, in order to finish it. She was very OCD when it came to her paintings, they needed to be finished and perfect.!

Vynny seemed embarassed that Matsumoto had scooped her onto his shoulders. He looked up at her and smiled. "Unless you have silver pants or a silver plate in your leg, I'm fine. I'm stronger than I look." Exusia smiled at Vynny, with a big, happy grin. He didn't look at Vynny as the girl with the sweet smelling blood anymore, he looked at her as the girl he had feelings for.

He noticed that he had said something about his "thing" with silver. Matsumoto had to say something about that. "Oh, I should mention this, I'm deathly allergic to silver. It's rare, but I have it." He hoped she understood and believed him. What he said was true, he and silver didn't get along.

Kakeru was in a very good mood, stepping back and walking towards Exu. "Hey neighbor. How's it? And it's nice to meet you up there. I'm Kakeru, Miyamoto Kakeru. And might I ask your name?" He was wearing his usual attire, albeit with his fedora, and he had Hayate on his back.

Sven stood up, walking over to where Greg was. "Well, if it isn't Mr. Church. Pleasant day for a gentleman like you or myself, isn't it?"

{Spinelli}

Spinelli was looking for Rock, who had flew downstairs. He had made his way into the Cafeteria, and Spinelli was right behind him. "Ro~ock! Wait for The Jackal! C'mo~on!" He ran after the bird, which landed on Greg's head. "Bawk! Too slow! Bawk!"

"S-Silver, huh?" Vynny still had a deep blush on her cheeks, but her mind was concentrating on the star she had to finish. Just a few more strokes... "I only wear gold, or fake, plastic drama jewelry. Hmhm, you won't have to worry about any silver with me." She focused for a few moments.

"Heh, I'm allergic to avocados. Probably not as bad as yours, but if I eat it I get all red, puffy, itchy... Not a very pleasant sight." She giggled slightly, adjusting herself on his shoulder and hoping she wasn't hurting him. "I'm also lactose intolerant, so milky stuff makes me sick. Ugh, I hate it though. Cause I'm madly in love with Ice cream. Mmmm. Mint Chocolate Chip with caramel. Gosh, it's delicious. Do you like Ice Cream, Exu?" She glanced down for a moment, smiling at him before going back to do a couple finishing touches. "My dad is allergic to peanuts. My aunt forgot all about it one time, fed him some salad with peanut oil in it, boy did he puff out. He was so swollen they had to take him to the hospital in the corvette with the top down. Heh." Vynny realized she was starting to ramble and quickly stopped. Drawing one last twirling line leading away from the star before sitting up straight again.

"There, perfect." She was proud of her work, and expected extensive compliments from Ms. G. But for now she turned her attention to the boy who had recently walked up to them. "O-Oh. H-Hi. My name is Vynny." She smiled lightly at him before turning to Exu. "Y-You can set me down, now."

"I like ice cream," Exusia said in reply to Vynny's question, "especially that cookie dough kind with some sprinkles. In fact, ice cream is one of the very few sweets I actually like." Matsumoto stood there, not letting his odd room mate know that he could actually hear him, but instead listening to Vynny's interesting stories. He even laughed lightly at some of them.

Vynny started to address Kakeru, so Exu let her down at her request and looked her in the eyes. "You really have to tell me more of your funny stories. I enjoyed them." Exu smiled at Vynny. He then looked up at the star and said, "Vynny, it's beautiful." He then turned his attention to Kakeru.

"How can I help you, Kakeru?" Exusia asked as he pat Vynny on the back, congratulating her on her beautiful painting.

Huh? Tanya made 'em free?

Pfft...Could it get any more like Santa's Workshop...?

The free food, the weird hand-painted tree, and the happy, singing, foreign chefs?...yuck.

Greg made a face, but then accepted the free pastry-in-a-napkin. Giving a grunt after the sous-chef left and the head chef sang a bit, Gregory folded one edge of the napkin over to unveil the wondrous, sugary square-thing beneath it. He was about to take a bite when the Italian teacher strutted up to him, quite gleeful compared to our wonderful Mr. GrumpyPants who was seething all his rancid glory. “Oh, sure. Of course. I just hope Mrs. Claus slaps on a skinny string bikini and gets dropped off to Rio where she belongs.” Jeesh, way to be subtle. Of course, Mrs. Claus was our poor Tawny. Emphasis on “poor.”

In fact, the whole sentence was said rather loudly, begging for a response frome one person in particular. Greg raised a brow, leaning by the counter and once again about to take a bite of that free strudel; he was awaiting whatever Tanya decided to throw back at him.

After all, it was all just fun and games until someone had...

...or at least until a random bird landed on their head. As was the case.

“WTF?”

was Greg's original response, but he resisted the immense urge to say it out loud, quite unlike the true, full-fledged jerkface he managed to become. The second thought that torpedoed through his mind was “I hope it doesn't crap on me,” and the next to follow that one was “I'll beat it to death with a candy cane if it does.”

All of the above were valid reactions in GregLand.

But it wouldn't happen that way.

Startled out of his comfort zone (not that it would be comforting to anyone other than him), Greg froze, half jumping away, and half mad that such a colorfully annoying creature was able to sneak (or more likely, fly) up on him. He snarled / scoffed / growled / rawr'd: “Gah! What're you doing here?” Not really in the mood to play games, he began shaking his head violently, hoping to cause at least some distress to the bird. Finding out within ten seconds of impulsive “headbanging” that it would be better to chuck something at it, Greg flung his precious strudel at it...missing it completely.
On the other side of the cafeteria....

“AIIIEEE!!! Okay, who the heck pegged me in the ass with this-this-!?!”
“...Strudel?”Uh, okay...

"Me too" Jacen said sidling up next to Gakupo. "Very nice tree though, its just as good if not better than a real one." Jacen said as he began to walk away. He'd given up on Vynny, and now focused on which ever girl gave him the time of day.

"Prof.Church!!!" Jacen said having fallen into a habit of following the grumpy teacher around. "Great throw, dead on." Jacen whispered, not wanting to get in trouble.
